Consistent Brand Imagery
When creating your social media Pages and profiles, it’s recommended that you use consistent brand imagery. In other words, if you use a particular version of your company’s logo on Facebook, also use it on Twitter, Google+, Instagram, etc. Maintaining consistent brand imagery is critical to connecting with audience members.
Publish New Content Regularly
You can’t expect people to “like” and follow your social media accounts unless you publish new content on a regular basis. Without fresh content, there’s no reason for people to visit, let alone follow, your accounts. So, how often should you publish new content? According to an article published by BufferApp, the sweet spot for Facebook is 2 posts per day, at which point engagement begins to die off. For Twitter and Google+, business owners should make 3 posts per day for maximum engagement.
Use Images
If you aren’t posting images on social media, you are missing out on one of the easiest ways to boost user engagement. Studies have shown that more people like, comment and share images on Facebook than any other type of content (links, videos, text, etc.). This doesn’t necessarily mean that you should avoid posting other types of content, rather you should make images a part of your overall social media content marketing strategy. You can even followers to post their own images, further enhancing your social media presence.
Paid Social Media Advertising
Assuming you have the budget, consider paid social media advertising options. Facebook and Twitter both have their own internal ad networks. Facebook Ads, for instance, is a pay-per-click (PPC) platform on which business owners can promote their products, services or even brand Pages. Its formula means you only pay when someone clicks your ad, giving you greater control over your ad spending.
Venture Outside from Facebook
Granted, Facebook is the king of social media, boasting more than 1.3 million monthly users. But this doesn’t mean that you should focus your social media marketing efforts strictly on Facebook. There are dozens of other social media networks worth using, including Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram and Flickr. Feel free to branch out by creating profiles on these networks, as well. The more social media accounts you have, the greater your brand recognition.
